This collection contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, publications, notes, printed matter, lectures, and photographs. The correspondents include Dwight D. Eisenhower, Barry Goldwater, Franlin D. Roosevelt, Earle D. Ross, and Henry A. Wallace. This collection also includes the papers of G. Pearle Schmidt (1881-1957), the wife of Louis Schmidt, and consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, writings of poetry, plays, and musical compositions, programs, minutes, mortgages, and leases. Organizations documented include the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Society of Mayflower Descendents, Mayflower Societies of Iowa and Arizona, the International Society of the Daughters of the Barons of Runnymede, and the Iowa Federation of Music Clubs.
